Tennessee Reproductive Medicine News
ANNOUNCEMENTS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / Chattanooga, Tennessee, October 10, 2011
When advertising infertility treatments, stock photos of babies or pregnant bellies can certainly attract attention. However, when your message is “A Different Approach to Infertility” and a patient personifies the story, an even better idea is to put the patient’s image on billboards, magazines, and newsprint.
That’s why Sheena Rowland teamed up with Tennessee Reproductive Medicine to tell the story of six long, difficult years that ended in joy and healthy twins. See Sheena in Chattanooga advertisements and read her story: http://www.trmbaby.com/TRM-infertility-webzine/current/TRM-patient-story-August.shtml
“A Different Approach to Infertility” means taking the time to thoroughly understand every patient's individual needs. The odds of conception increase when fertility doctors have the flexibility to evaluate a wide range of obvious and seemingly insignificant factors. In Sheena’s case, her “long dive into the world of infertility” began at another practice with a prolonged series of standardized treatments that never identified the underlying causes of infertility.
As Sheena writes “Other than my first visit, I never saw a doctor…I really wanted to talk to the doctor because I wanted to understand what was going on. Instead, I became part of a process, completing four more IUIs with nurse practitioners who seemed so distant.”
The good news is that everything changed when she discovered Tennessee Reproductive Medicine and their ‘Different Approach’. Sheena’s treatment required lots of one-on-one time with the doctors, emotional support, testing, and even alternative treatments before they discovered the combination that worked. Sheena summarized; “TRM went way above and beyond anything else I experienced and also changed the way I think about medical care”.
Of course, Sheena’s twin girls are the stars of this story, and like most babies, they require a lot of attention. However, Sheena’s relationship with TRM is so strong that she was able to make the time for photo shoots, interviews, even proofreading.
“I had modeled hairstyles in the past, but I liked this better because I’m giving something back to the community…I want other infertility patients to understand that this level of care is available in Chattanooga. Becoming the Tennessee Reproductive Medicine model for the ‘Different Approach to Infertility’ campaign was just the icing on the cake for us because TRM is already part of the family.”
