Using an egg donor is much more expensive than undergoing regular IVF. You are paying for the screening of potential donors, the compensation to the donor, as well as the medical treatment of two individuals, you and the donor.

The cost for the donor (her evaluation, stimulation and monitoring), as well as your treatment is usually not defrayed much by insurance.
